Visit farms growing coffee, cacao, bananas, along with farms specializing in mixed fruits and vegetables. Learn techniques in organic cultivation, gravity flow irrigation, permaculture and biodynamic farming. See farms in three distict regions of the coast, the sierra and the Amazon on this 10 day tour. Paraiso del Pastor began with a visit to Farms in Ecuador by a farmer from New York. Since then, Sebastian Interlandi, Creative Shepherd Farm and many partners have worked to establish an international corporation owned by farmers, hoteliers, artisans, and their customers. This co-operative has as it's mission, the fair exchange of goods and ideas between communities in the North-eastern U.S. and communities in the Gran Columbia region of South America. We also aim to move our exchange to a fossil fuel free distribution system as quickly as possible.
Through our exchange we are bringing Ecuadorean scientists, artisans and students to the North, American tourists, traders and technical experts to the South. Our agro-ecological tours are designed to give you a thorough view into all the facets of Ecuadorean culture and ecology upon which our business rests.
Our small group tours consist of 6 travelers, two guides and a driver. We will travel around Ecuador together in a comfortable van, and all instruction is available in English, although you are welcome to use your Spanish as much as you want!

Ecuadorean Textiles

Visit sheep and alpaca farmers, hand spinners, weavers and knitters, all making traditional and modern styles of natural fiber based goods. Learn to shear sheep, dye wool, work a hand loom, and crochet finish. Explore Otavalo and Quito in the north, and Saraguro and Vilcabamba in the south on this 8 day tour. To reserve a tour, a 50% deposit is required 30 days prior to travel. Deposits can be made by cash, check or credit card. Make checks payable to Creative Shepherd Farm, Box 27, Ava, NY 13303. Call the farm for credit card orders. Payment of the remainder due 14 days before start of tour. Please be prepared to share the following information:
